“Tourists don’t know where they’ve been, travellers don’t know where they’re going.”
Paul Theroux
During peak times (approx. Dec.-March), booking 3-5 days ahead is not a bad idea if you want a specific type of room. At other times of the year, one day’s notice is usually sufficient.
If you make a confirmed booking, you are not simply taking an option, you are entering into an agreement to pay for that accommodation. If less than 48 hours’ notice is given, we will charge full price for the first night bookings made. A booking is not confirmed until credit card details have been received, or some other form of full payment made. Put simply, if you want to avoid cancellation fees, don’t make a booking until you’re sure you need it!
Yes. We accept Visa or Master Card as well as EFTPOS payment.
We don’t try to be the cheapest, but we do try to offer the best value, the best facilities, and the best everything else!
Yes – If you are arriving by Tranz Alpine train or Intercity bus, we will come and collect you if you let us know in advance. Otherwise you will have a 15-20 minute walk to Global Village, or around $7 taxi fare. If you are using either Atomic or West Coast Shuttle from Christchurch, they will drop you at our door, and pick you up again when you are ready to leave. Remember, the best travel experiences usually come with a little effort, and a bit of exercise never hurt anybody……………… so, if you need to make that little extra effort to get here, do it, you’ll be glad you did!
Global Village is not suitable for those travelling with young children. Minimum age is 10.
